Our office is dedicated to making your
routine and emergency visits as comfortable and convenient as
possible. For this reason, we have a generous facility with professional
staffing 5 days a week and some Saturdays as well. The following
will give you some guidelines on our philosophy of emergency
care.
Taking Calls:
Dr. Armel and his partner take calls for each other, so there
is always someone available in case of emergency. Both doctors
have after hours calls routed automatically to their homes and
Dr. Armel is available by pager. If both doctors are away at
a professional meeting at the same time, a dentist from the Marin
County community will be available to assist you.
Toothaches:
When you come to see us, we will treat you with the utmost care
- being gentle and careful not to unnecessarily upset a toothache
that is already painful.
Nitrous oxide:
Nitrous oxide is available on a routine basis in our office.
About 1/2 of our patients use this light form of sedation (eat
before using nitrous please).
Music on headphones: To help you relax, you may want to listen to a
music tape from our extensive and varied library. You can also
bring in your own audio cassettes if you wish.
Eat before coming in: Please have something to eat before you come in.
We find that patients do better on nitrous oxide and medication
if their blood sugar is normal. Also if you have work done, you
may not be able to eat immediately after treatment.
Emergency time in schedule: We usually have time each day for emergency visits.
With the size and capacity of our office, we can usually fit
you in on the day you call. We don't want our patients waiting
to be seen by a dentist if they are truly in an emergency condition.
After Hours Emergencies: when necessary, both doctors will treat after
hours emergencies.
